The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead a team to maximize profitability, achieve budget, revenue and market share targets through development and the implementation of Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Generating Initiatives related to Transient, Group and Catering Markets. This position will work directly with the Area Director of Revenue Management to support the hotels in maximizing revenues.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creating strategic business plan and corresponding operating budget based on comprehensive knowledge of market position, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planning.
- Actively leading and/or participating in regular Sales, Revenue, Marketing meetings.
- Developing and implementing targeted sales initiatives designed to penetrate specific market segments, key accounts or designated time periods.
- Monitoring production of all top accounts (Group/Transient), evaluate trends within the market and ensure continuous relationship-building activities.
- Effectively presenting information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Conduct efficient and professional site inspections. Entertain qualified clients.
- Prospecting for new business utilizing sales tools, including Agency 360, Demand 360, Knowland, RevIntel, Brand Tools, Internet, news notifications, old account files and other prospecting resources.
- Assist in the recruitment & selection, training & development, and effective performance management of Sales team.
- Develop, maintain and execute quarterly Key Sales Objectives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in similar role in luxury hospitality.
- Knowledge of and experience within the Santa Monica, CA market.
- A proven track record of leading and inspiring teams to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Ability to solve complex problems in an organized manner.
- Exceptional strength and contacts for selling into the Group and/or Transient market.
- Strong demonstrated experience and understanding of Revenue Management.
- Strong demonstrated experience in selling a luxury hotel.
The expected pay range for this position is $155,000-$175,000 + Bonus.
