**Job Title:** Interventional Radiology Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Interventional Radiology
**Job Duration:** Permanent
**Shift:** Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred
**License:** ARRT (R) required
**Certifications:** BLS (AHA or ARC) required
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with strokes and traumas
- Ability to take call and live within a 30-minute response time
**Job Description:**
- Assist in various invasive angio and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite
- Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for total patient care during and after the procedure
- Monitor patients in the Interventional Radiology area
- Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them accordingly
- Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials for administration by a licensed practitioner or technologist
- Circulate during procedures while maintaining responsibility for patient comfort
- Provide necessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures
- Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamps as appropriate
- Provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed
- Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptly and accurately
- Enter patient data and inventory into the designated program and send films for review
- Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs
**Physical Requirements:**
- Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons
- Exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood
- Confined working area
- Normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordination necessary to operate equipment
- Constant concentration required during procedures
