Position: The Head of Security will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive information security strategy to protect the company's digital assets, intellectual property, and operational technologies. This role requires a seasoned leader with strong business acumen and detailed knowledge of information security technologies, practices, policies, and their application to a business.


Location: This role will start remote and then will be working out of Marshall, MS, with expectation to be on-site once building construction and timing is established.


Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide information security strategy and program.
  • Ensure the security of the company's digital assets, including proprietary information, intellectual property, and customer data.
  • Oversee the protection of operational technologies (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) used in battery manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the information security team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats.
  • Establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards to comply with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Implement and manage security technologies to monitor access to physical locations.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, Legal, and other departments to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Lead the responses to security incidents and breaches, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
  • Conduct post-incident analysis and implement improvements.
  • Assess and manage the security of third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate security requirements in contracts and service level agreements.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Report on the status of information security initiatives to the executive team and board of directors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in securing operational technologies (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of information security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Experience with risk management, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
