About the Role: California Miramar University's new in-residence site in San Jose is seeking a proactive and dynamic Business Development Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial for driving the campus's visibility and outreach through the coordination of events and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, with a proven track record of meeting sales targets and managing event logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Coordination and Promotion: Organize and promote both paid and unpaid events on campus to increase awareness and engagement. This includes logistical planning, coordination with speakers and vendors, and marketing efforts to maximize attendance and impact.
  2. Partnership Development: Identify potential partners and develop relationships that lead to event sponsorships and collaborative opportunities. Negotiate agreements that benefit both the university and its partners, ensuring alignment with the campus's strategic goals.
  3. Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed sales targets associated with event bookings and partnership agreements. Develop strategies to maximize revenue from campus facilities and events.
  4. Community Engagement: Actively participate in key events within Silicon Valley to network and promote the university. Assist with student recruitment efforts as needed, providing support during university-led events.
  5. Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring each is on track and achieving desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, with a preference for candidates familiar with the San Jose area.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to negotiate and persuade potential partners and clients.
  • Flexibility to work late hours as needed for events and other activities.
