A strong candidate for this position will be an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented, Landscape Estimator and Sales Professional, whose values align with those of RLS. Your role will focus on estimating, proposal creation, customer & prospect presentations, and, importantly, closing new sales opportunities for new landscaping projects as well as annual commercial landscape maintenance. The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in sales, with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships, and a keen eye for identifying new business opportunities. Strong estimating skills are crucial, including the ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals. Extensive knowledge of plant material, planting, and maintenance practices required. Excellent communication skills are a must. Responsibilities

  • Reviewing sites and gathering information and data for proposals
  • Reading and interpreting plans and specifications    
  • Completing plan take-offs to gather information and data for proposals
  • Compiling required information, pricing, and labor estimates to develop detailed proposals for the sales and operations team
  • Managing bid calendar and meeting deadlines delivering accurate and detailed proposals
  • Communicating with vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
  • Working with Sales and Project Managers developing budgets, proposals, revisions, and value engineering options
  • Providing risk assessment and feedback to the operations team as required
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
  • Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans and specifications
  • 3-5+ years' of landscape estimator experience preferred
