The Telecommunications Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, and securing telecommunication equipment in data racks within data centers or network facilities. This role involves reading and interpreting technical schematics and blueprints, preparing racks for installation, and ensuring all components are correctly positioned and connected according to industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Assembly & Installation: Build and mount devices such as servers, switches, routers, power supplies, and cabling systems into pre-configured data racks.
  • Cabling & Wiring: Route, label, and secure power, fiber, and Ethernet cables within the rack, ensuring proper cable management for accessibility and airflow.
  • Hardware Configuration: Align and fasten equipment into rack units (RU) slots using tools and hardware like brackets, screws, and rails.
  • Testing & Verification: Conduct initial power-up and connectivity tests to ensure proper operation of installed components.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Follow safety protocols, industry standards, and client specifications, and document work through installation reports.
  • Troubleshooting & Adjustments: Diagnose and fix any issues with installations, such as misaligned components or connectivity faults.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure and telecommunications equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with rack-mounted systems, cabling, and hardware tools is required.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow wiring diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
