The Technical Analyst will be responsible for assisting the E-6B Senior Procurement Technical Advisor, advising buyer and supplier activities, and providing support and coordination on major repair and alteration projects. Assist in the review and evaluation of technical documents and manuals to ensure materials and repairs were completed expeditiously and within compliance standards. The primary duty will focus on the repair, overhaul, and procurement of parts of the E-6B (Boeing 707) aircraft system.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate directly with OEMs and suppliers for the repair and overhaul of aircraft system parts
Read and interpret aircraft drawings and determine suppliers capable of manufacturing aircraft system parts
Coordinate and assist suppliers in developing repair and overhaul procedures
Assist buyers with request for quotes from qualified suppliers
Assist with Requests for Engineering Information (REI) and Temporary Engineering Instructions (TEI)
Assist DMSMS efforts to include the creation and execution of the DMSMS Plan
Assist DMSMS efforts, working with IPTs, suppliers, and customer to analyze, assess impact, and propose potential resolution options
Provide technical input to Sole Source Justifications in accordance with Vertex compliance standards, policies, and procedures
Provide technical input to Limited Source Justifications in accordance with Vertex compliance standards, policies, and procedures
Provide technical input on Similar Too Analysis in accordance with Vertex compliance standards, policies, and procedures
Assist supplier capability and approval process by conducting site visits and assessing manufacturing and technology capabilities
Facilitate on-site visits with “at-risk suppliers” to conduct root cause analysis, implement and verify corrective actions for supplier quality issues

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience OR education/experience equivalent.
Aircraft maintenance experience. E-6B experience is a plus.
Understanding of military/commercial aviation and maintenance terminology.
Knowledge of procurement procedures and regulations.
Experience working with DMSMS/Obsolescence issues.
Experience with technical support and knowledge of the use and application of aircraft technical data, engineering drawings, and technical directives.
Comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and general aircraft maintenance procedures.
Required skills and abilities:

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, and procedure manuals.

Must be able to recognize or identify the existence of a problem as well as elements of a problem.
Must be familiar with Navy logistics support and FAR Part 45.
Skilled in problem analysis and independent decision-making.
Ability to discern priorities.
Knowledge of the NAVAIR Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR)
Understanding of Request for Engineering Information (REI) and Temporary Engineering Instructions (TEI).
Understanding of technical performance of Obsolescence Management / Diminishing Material Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)
SECRET Clearance or have the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance
