Overview
The Information Security Systems Administrator (Security Administrator) completes tasks designed to ensure the security of the organization's systems and information assets. This position protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction while supporting systems security control objectives to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. This position works with the business and end-users to determine individual department needs, implements policies and procedures, and supports compliance throughout the organization. Must be familiar with a variety of Information Security concepts, practices, and procedures. The Security Administrator performs a variety of tasks and must be able to work within guidance given by leadership and senior-level engineers. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 based on experience. The role is 100% remote.
Responsibilities
  • Must be able to perform hands-on routine support for a wide range of security technologies including, but not limited to: EDR, End-Point Security, Database Security, SIEM, Security Auditing / Vulnerability Scanning.
  • Hands-on support of public cloud security including but not limited to AWS (EC2/S3/VPC/API Gateway/Direct Connect/IAM/Resource Manager/SSO) and Azure (VM/Vnet/Virtual Wan Hub/Peering)
  • Utilize and update IT Security standard operating procedure documents.
  • Any additional tasks required to support IT control objectives, business objectives, IT projects, and others.
  • Hands-on coordination (where appropriate) of remedial measures for systems security events, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in IT Security audits and 3rd party reviews.
  • Keep abreast of industry security trends and current systems threat profiles.
  • Provide backup/support for business continuity service.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required Experience:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience within systems operations and/or systems security
  • Strong research and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of methods to secure systems, databases, and applications
  • Experience with systems events monitoring and enrichment, analysis, and anomaly detection
  • Experience in highly regulated environments, preferably Financial Services or similar
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a structured approach to managing responsibilities.
  • Broad understanding of current information security technologies, security industry trends, etc.
  • Quick learner, adaptable, flexible, customer service oriented, a team player, and always closes the loop with the customer.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration
  • Preferred: CISSP, CISA, CEH, CSSLP, CHFI, CCSP, GCIH, GCIA, ITIL v3, MCP, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+; CompTIA Security +, AWS, and Azure.
Location & Compensation
  • The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 depending on the individual's experience
  • Role can be 100% fully remote depending on geographic location
