Terrific Clinical Small Animal Internal Medicine position with a Veterinary College at a Health Sciences University in the Southwestern U.S. The position can be at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level, based on experience. This role will be responsible for providing clinical services to the community within the institution's small animal clinic. The role will consist of clinical, as well as, teaching and research work. Typical responsibilities will include receiving new cases, teaching students in clinical and lecture settings, providing mentorship, and conducting research. This position can be designed as a tenure or non-tenure track role, based on the candidate's personal goals. DVM or equivalent degree required. Board certification by ACVIM or ECVIM or the eligibility to obtain board certification is required. Salary range gladly provided upon request. Compensation also includes participation in the organization's incentive plan. Relocation assistance will be provided by the organization, if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Join a team of small animal internists to provide services to small animals
- Mentor and train students and junior faculty
- Increase caseload based by introducing new services to clients
- Teach courses within the DVM curriculum
- Improve system efficiencies
- Focus on clinical skills and research (% of each is flexible based on each candidate's interests)
- Teach clinical skills to students and participate in rounds
- Participate in and conduct research
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a clinical setting providing services, teaching and research experience a plus
- DVM or equivalent degree required
- Board certification, or eligibility, by ACVIM or ECVIM
- Excellent clinical and communication skills
- Ability to engage in a collaborative research and clinical environment
