They have engaged our firm to perform a national search to identify the top candidates in the country to help take their IC services to the next level.

The director will be responsible for all matters pertaining to infection surveillance, prevention and control with 24/7 responsibility. Oversees activities across the medical center to prevent transmission of communicable diseases and reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections to patients, families, personnel, volunteers, students and visitors. Oversees compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies and accrediting groups. Supervises Infection Prevention, Surveillance and Control Department staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN or equivalent experience with current license to practice professional nursing in State of Illinois), or Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Biology or health-related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in hospital infection prevention, surveillance and control.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous management experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in epidemiology, statistics, leadership principles, adult education, employee health, sterilization and disinfection, immunology, virology, and patient care practices, public health principles and practices, regulatory agency and accreditation requirements as apply to the program, with excellent communication and public relations skills.
