Lead Trial Attorney

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law, possess excellent research and negotiation skills, and have an interest and experience in appellate work.

Duties

1. Supervise two attorneys handling district court misdemeanors
2. Provide legal advice and represent clients in court
3. Conduct legal research and analysis
4. Draft legal documents such as appeals, mandamus, Rule 32 and other pleadings, and briefs in support
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
6. Specialize in criminal law
7. Utilize tools like Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw for legal research
8. Manage cases efficiently within a law office setting

Experience

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
2. Admitted to the Alabama State Bar Association
3. Proven experience in criminal law
4. Familiarity with legal research methods and tools
5. Strong negotiation skills
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
7. Supervisory experience is strongly desired

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
