Medical Technologist Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee, plan, and direct all activities within the laboratory department. This role involves developing and implementing departmental policies, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting in strategic planning for continued departmental growth. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring that all applicable accreditation standards and regulations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, plan, coordinate, and direct all activities within the laboratory department.
• Develop, interpret, and implement departmental policies to streamline daily operations.
• Create and maintain operational and capital budgets for the fiscal year.
• Assist in long-range planning for equipment, personnel, and strategic growth of the department.
• Maintain accreditation status with all applicable organizations (e.g., TJC, CAP) and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitor quality assurance and safety standards to ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
• Act as a key point of contact for accreditation bodies, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced healthcare management degree is preferred.
• Licensure: FL Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting with complete knowledge of medical technology theory and practice. At least 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
• Skills: Proficient in PC and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) applications. Superior oral and written communication skills.
• Certification: ASCP or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
