The BCBSND Summer Internship program runs from Monday, May 19th 2025 through Friday, August 8th 2025 and is paid full-time.

- The estimated pay range for this role is $15.00 - $20.00/hour. Offers to top candidates are based on various factors such as previous experience and level of education completed.

A day in the life
We're looking for an intern that can bring fresh perspectives, new ideas, and approaches, while fostering innovation and creative problem-solving!
The Intern position is a formal training/development position with specific responsibilities within a defined functional area. Each intern has an individual work plan outlining specific duties and projects for the duration of the internship as well as overall goals for the internship period. A designated mentor will provide supervision, guidance and support.
Your responsibilities will include
- Job responsibilities are outlined in an individual work plan for each intern position; however, assignments will generally include the following types of job duties:
- AI model development
- Support the development and fine-tuning of machine learning models.
- Implement AI algorithms under supervision to solve specific problems.
- Generate automation workflow designs using AI or RPA (Robotic Process Automation) software.
- Perform application development to integrate AI solutions into larger systems.
- Collaborate with software engineers to support ongoing automation projects.
- Modernize business processes.
- Demonstrates professional workplace behaviors, is punctual and presents an appropriate appearance. Respects company policies and demonstrates ethical conduct.
What you need to succeed
- Currently completing post-secondary studies in a specified field or a recent graduate with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to take initiative in a team environment.
- Collaborates with team members, mentors, and leaders within the organization.
- Coachable with a highly motivated work ethic.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
