About the Job
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Family Support Services, the Mental Health Specialist is responsible for providing therapeutic direct services, one-on-one counseling and group facilitation of the community through a trauma-informed lens. The incumbent will ensure high quality services for participants and work collaboratively with community-based organizations to ensure that families in the Bayview Hunters Point community have access to high quality mental health services and resources. Additionally, the Mental Health Specialist will be responsible for providing case conferencing for case managers, case consultation, and professional development opportunities for the team as needed. The Mental Health Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accessibility and consistency for FRC program participants to services.
Minimum Qualifications
- 21+ years old
- MSW, MFT
- M-F, some nights and weekends required
- Must understand legal and ethical standards of practice and have 3+ years direct experience providing trauma-informed therapy services to individuals, groups, youth and families. Related experience with family support, clinical case management and family reunification.
- California Board of Behavioral Science registration mandatory OR must be registration eligible
- Demonstrated ability to deliver relevant and nuanced clinical care
Preferred Qualifications
- LMFT, LCSW, LPCC
- Domestic violence, understanding of unique issues impacting the Bayview Hunters Point community
