Tax Manager

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Manager to join their nonprofit group in their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for not-for-profit clients
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Understand the client’s business operations, goals, and challenges
• Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
• Stay informed of tax laws and regulations affecting nonprofit organizations
• Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to not-for-profit clients
• Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies
• Advise clients on the tax implications of various transactions and activities
• Manage a team of tax professionals, fostering their professional development

Requirements

• 5+ years of tax experience
• Nonprofit or Private Foundation experience required
• Understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws applicable
• Strong leadership and managerial skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• CPA is highly preferred
• Skilled in Excel
