JOB SUMMARY:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta seeks an accomplished Human Resource Generalist to join our team! In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner in cultivating an exceptional experience for leaders and employees across our diverse sectors within Metro Atlanta. Reporting to the Sr. VP of Human Resources, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and implement critical HR initiatives that align with our mission and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, and the ability to manage HR functions in a hybrid working model.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Business Partner
• Consult with management providing HR guidance when appropriate
• Provides day to day performance management guidance to managers (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
• Review employee data, investigate employee complaints, and manage the creation of new HR Programs for implementation across departments
Leadership
• Propose new approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the HR department and the services it provides. Implement approved changes to drive continuous improvement
• Indentify opportunities to improve practices and procedures within your area of responsibility. Discuss plans with your supervisor and take action to optimize operations
• Represents organization and human resources function in a positive and professional manner, serving as a role model for others in promoting organizational values and a supportive work environment
Employee Relations / Employee Engagement
• Lead employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
• Manage employee recognition programs and organize events.
• Conduct and assist in investigations of employee complaints.
• Adress and resolve employee grievances and disputes in a fair and consistent manner
Recruiting
• May coach supervisors to develop targeted interview questions for part-time and full-time staff and to document interview process
• May conduct full cycle recruiting for full and/or part time roles
• Assist with the Youth Employment Program (YEP) compliance and hiring process.
Human Resource Database
  • Monitor and maintain HRIS data accuracy.
  • Leverage HR Data analytics to drive strategic HR decision-making, assess best practices, and identify areas of improvement.
  • Support payroll processing as needed.
Worker Compensation
• Manage worker compensation claims and follow up on cases until resolved.
• Ensure proper safety protocols are followed to minimize workplace accidents and reduce claims.
Administration
• Develop department goals and participate in meetings.
• Manages leave of absence and ensure compliance with FMLA and ADA.
• Conduct exit interviews as needed and provide recommendations to reduce turnover.
Other
• All other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education
• Bachelor's degree with HR emphasis preferred
Experience
• 3+ years of experience in HR functions, including benefits, recruiting, employee relations, and database management.
Skills
  • Must have broad-based knowledge across a range of Human Resources related areas
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to analyze HR Metrics and data to inform decision-making and strategy development

ENVIRONMENT:
Normal internal office environment with frequent need to travel to club locations and community partners' offices within the Metro Atlanta area. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; involving evenings and weekends as needed. Frequent internal contact with employees throughout the organization is required. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
