Blood and Platelet Center Supervisor

Description

We are seeking a dedicated Blood and Platelet Center Supervisor to oversee our blood collection operations. The successful candidate will lead a team of Hospital Lab Technicians, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality blood collection services. This role demands excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a strong commitment to patient care and donor experience. Primary duties include:

1. Supervise and manage daily blood collection activities, including mobile blood drives and fixed sites.
2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and safety protocols.
3. Manage, mentor, and evaluate performance of Hospital Laboratory Technicians and support staff.
4. Oversee blood product conversion, optimization and retention efforts to meet blood collection targets.
5. Monitor and maintain high standards of blood donor care and experience.
6. Coordinate logistics for mobile blood drives and/or Fixed Site operations as assigned, including site setup, facility management, fleet management and equipment maintenance.
7. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of donor information and blood collection data.
8. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for blood collection.
9. Provide guidance and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
10. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Salary Range: $68,799.60 - 141,002.64/year

Qualifications

1. Prior experience leading a team, process, and/or projects.
2. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
3. Basic Life Support certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If you do not currently have this certification, you must obtain it within 6 months of hire.
4. Obtain LiveScan clearance.
5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
8. 2 years or more of supervisory experience, preferred.
9. 2 years or more of blood center collections experience, preferred.
