Job Function
Reporting into the Operations and Sales Manager, the Lab Technician will be based in Orrville and will be responsible to perform required QC testing and maintain QC records, samples, & charts. Provide technical support & laboratory functions relating to sales, customer service, quality assurance and Research & Development. The main function will be waterborne coatings but forehearth color concentrates cross training will also be required.
Responsibilities
- Perform required QC testing.
- Record & Maintain QC records.
- Complete required SAP transactions in a timely manner.
- Review Raw material COAs against specifications.
- Complete Finished Goods COAs per customer request.
- Color matching.
- Perform various lab testing and R&D projects.
- Maintain lab/log of projects.
- Test new raw materials to determine acceptability in production
- Assist in updating related ISO procedures & SOPs.
- Maintain & update Standards & samples.
- Follow all site & corporate safety guidelines & procedures.
- Maintain a clean & organized work area.
- Technical degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- 2+ years laboratory experience.
- Quality Assurance and R&D experience preferred.
- Must be detail oriented and ensure consistent testing results.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer literate in MS Office software including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and e-mail applications; and knowledge of SAP is desirable.
- Must be adaptable to organizational and market challenges.
- Must be able to multitask & meet project/testing deadlines
