Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer opportunities in Oak Ridge, TN at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
Work Arrangement: On-site work in Oak Ridge is preferred. Telework and/or per diem may be considered.
Clearance: Active DOE L or Q (or DOD Secret of Top-Secret) security clearance preferred. Uncleared candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Citizenship: United States Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
Development, revision, and review of Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documentation such as Criticality Safety Evaluations (CSEs), Nuclear Criticality Safety Design Analysis and Calculations (DACs) and various other NCS technical basis documentation:
  • Completion of required NCS annual Operational Reviews, as needed
  • Daily nuclear facility support, as needed; consisting of facility walkdowns, review of NCS requirements implementing documents, participation at facility Operational Safety Boards, etc.
Qualifications:
  • A BA/BS degree with a minimum of 2 years Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) experience (preferably with DOE-specific experience).
  • Preferred 4-10+ years of Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) experience (preferably with DOE-specific experience).
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
