Formulation Technician / Associate Scientist
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $62,400 - $83,200 per year
Location: San Leandro, CA - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Formulation Technician who will support the R&D team in developing and optimizing structural color formulations. The ideal candidate will have a background in inks, coatings, formulation development, processing, and application, with a demonstrated ability to address technical challenges and provide creative solutions to compelling scientific questions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in formulating new inks for screen printing, inkjet, and spray applications.
- Prepare and test various formulations under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Assist in evaluating raw materials for formulation optimization.
- Support the preparation and testing of coatings for various performance metrics.
- Help maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
- Document experimental results using an electronic lab notebook and report findings to the R&D team.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a science or engineering field; a B.S./B.A. degree or relevant coursework is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with inks, coatings, or formulations in a lab setting is preferred (internship or coursework).
- Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, chemical handling, and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Eagerness to learn and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
