Job Description

Position: Data Scientist

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Responsibilities:

1. Analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources including subscription and app usage telemetry data to provide customer insights to drive key business decisions.
2. Work on broader business problems to drive marketing strategy, e.g., app usage and retention patterns.
3. 5-7 years’ experience with marketing measurement, analytics, and reporting including deep experience in the marketing domain and also with survey data (sampling, experimental design, statistical testing, and other forms of non-survey based data, e.g., behavioral data).
4. At least 2-3 years’ experience in hands-on involvement in customer and market data analysis using advanced analytic techniques such as CART/Decision Tree, cluster analysis, regression, factor analysis, Bayes nets, neural nets, and agent-based modeling.
5. Ability to communicate in advanced analytical language and translate business issues into technical language and vice versa.
6. Ability to maintain a balance between solid pragmatism and scientific rigor to meet the needs of a dynamic business.
7. Experience in developing and presenting strategic recommendations from complex analytics in an easy and engaging manner for executive/senior-level audiences.
8. Experience with statistical packages such as SAS, R, Power BI, and deep experience with advanced Excel functionality.
9. Working knowledge of leading analytic environments for both structured (relational data warehouses, SQL, etc.) and unstructured data (COSMOS, Cassandra, Hadoop, Web trends, Omniture, etc.).
10. Undergraduate degree is a must. MBA or Masters/PhD in Business or a Quantitative Discipline preferred.
