REPORTS TO: Child Development Manager FLSA: NA
SALARY RANGE: Volunteer AVAILABLE SALARY: NA
JOB SUMMARY: Foster a welcoming and stimulating environment that encourages children's interest in reading and literacy.Manage the on-site library; plan and coordinate activities for children; and promote literacy and a love of reading. This is a voluntary position requiring a commitment of 10-15 hours per week.
CHILDREN SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely with teachers and staff to align library activities with the educational curriculum and program goals.
- Maintain records of library usage, volunteer hours, and other relevant data.
- Maintain the library's organization, including shelving, cataloging, and maintaining books and other resources.
- Schedule and conduct regular read-aloud sessions, literacy activities, and other educational programs.
- A passion for reading and literacy.
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage children in storytelling and literacy activities.
- Must complete a background check and any other volunteer requirements.
- Experience working in a supportive and collaborative educational environment.
- Ability to interface with parents, program staff, community partners, and children.
