Job Requirements / Description

SDFCU is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and working closely with senior HR professionals in supporting various functional areas such as recruitment, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, salary administration and employment law compliance. Strong social skills and the ability to remain neutral while maintaining confidentiality of employees' sensitive information is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  1. 5 to 8 years of Human Resources related experience
  2. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  3. Knowledge of employment laws and other government compliance regulations.
  4. Strong background in recruitment, personnel administration, employment, compensation and benefits
  5. Proficiency using an HRIS or applicant tracking software
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  8. Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  10. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  11. Ability to work independently and consistently demonstrate a professional demeanor
  12. Experience using a PC to include Microsoft Office Suite and related software; proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  13. SHRM-CP a plus

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Recruits, interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings
  2. Leads efforts for college recruitment and internship programs
  3. Conducts new hire onboarding and offboarding
  4. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance and talent management, productivity and recognition
  5. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  6. Participates in employee corrective action, disciplinary meetings and terminations
  7. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices, reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  8. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
