Contract Length: 13 weeks

Pay Rate: $30 - $35/hour
Shift: M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:40 PM

Are you an experienced Credentialing Specialist looking for a contract opportunity? This role offers a chance to join a leading healthcare organization for a 13-week contract, providing support in credentialing and privileging processes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the credentialing activities for medical staff and advanced practice staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA).
  • Provide administrative support for medical staff committees and meetings, including minute-taking and correspondence.
  • Manage requests for temporary, additional, and one-time privileges, as well as follow-up on necessary documentation.
  • Verify professional credentials such as medical licensure, board certifications, liability coverage, DEA certifications, and more.
  • Assist in preparation for Joint Commission accreditation and compliance with applicable statutes and laws.
  • Maintain and update credentialing databases, ensuring accuracy and timely management of all expirables (licenses, certifications, etc.).
  • Support the medical staff services department by facilitating communication between committees, medical staff leadership, and the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Assist in managing the FPPE (Focused Professional Practice Evaluation) and OPPE (Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation) processes during reappointment cycles.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in hospital/health system credentialing, specifically for physicians and/or advanced practice staff.
  • Strong knowledge of credentialing verification, privileging, and Joint Commission accreditation rules.
  • Proficiency in Excel and database management, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment in credentialing matters.
  • Experience with Cactus or Symplr credentialing systems is preferred.
  • CPCS or CPMSM certification preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be open to a 13-week contract.
  • Must be willing to work fully onsite (remote work is not available).
  • Must obtain a flu shot prior to the start date.
