The Vice President, Information Technology will serve as the CIO for the Transportation Products Group. This person will develop and execute best-in-class strategies for IT systems for a fast-growing Transportation business with approximately 30 companies and over 5,000 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess current IT organization and design an IT organization that supports the business’s growth and technology simplification strategy.
  • Create a sustainable competitive advantage for the Transportation business by effectively planning and managing all group-wide information systems activities, including application development, infrastructure, cyber security, data, acquisition, and customer experience activities.
  • Drive IT simplification across 30 businesses and rationalize multiple ERP environments.
  • Rationalize and optimize software and hardware solutions to reduce variability across the businesses in the group.
  • Develop an IT Integration playbook to onboard new companies that are acquired.
  • Manage and champion Cybersecurity and align strategies with Marmon policies.
  • Develop and implement ERP Strategy, transitioning from legacy systems to packaged ERP solutions with minimal business disruption. Plan and execute a detailed project plan that incorporates milestones, timetables, financial investment and systems metrics.
  • Identify process improvements and apply best in class methodologies.
  • Work closely with business leaders to understand opportunities for IT to enable business operations, maximize revenue streams and improve profitability.
  • Work with the business to develop a data strategy and data management strategy.
  • Build effective relationships across the business and oversee the preparation of business cases to support proposed IT initiatives.
  • Be a hands-on IT leader to ensure activities and projects are managed effectively, accurately and completed on-time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technical foundation to include a bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science
  • MBA and/or advanced technical degree, and/or PMP certifications are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 plus years of IT management experience
  • Prior experience leading a significant technology group in a large corporation.
  • Proven track record in developing the IT strategy and roadmap linked to business objectives.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading a major ERP conversion in a multi-location manufacturing environment is required.
  • Prior exposure to project planning, execution, and organization change-management efforts to successfully complete a complex ERP conversion is critical.
  • Significant project management experience highlighting an ability to plan and execute multiple complex IT projects against project plans, budgets and timelines.

Business Experience

  • The successful candidate must have led IT in a company that has experienced significant times of change to position the company for success in the long term.
  • Experience working in the transportation and logistics industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a transformational environment is highly preferred.
  • Previous technical experience in a highly decentralized and disparate technological environment is a plus.
  • A demonstrated passion, energy and drive to understand requirements in a complex supply chain and manufacturing environment will be important.
