Job Description
SUMMARY:
Servers at Ace Hotel Brooklyn are responsible for identifying the needs of our guests and accommodating those needs. Serving the guests quickly and efficiently with complete knowledge of the restaurant menu. Maintaining station in a clean and orderly manner throughout the shift and upholding Department of Health standards at all times.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Ace Hotel.
  • Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival and/or while moving through restaurant
  • Remain fully knowledgeable of all menu offerings, acceptable modifications, allergy protocols, and any other information needed to maintain guest satisfaction and safety
  • Practice responsible alcoholic beverage service (including age verification) and report any issues to management
  • Record orders into the POS accurately and immediately after having received them
  • Bring dishes to appropriate guests, adhering to table and seat numbers, after inspected by the expeditor
  • Ensure guests have appropriate utensils for each course and dish
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the menu and be able to answer guest questions about dish ingredients and preparations
  • Recognize, engage, and learn the names and preferences of regular guests
  • Work with fellow employees and management, in a friendly and communicative manner, to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and/or room charges, and make change upholding Ace Hotel, PCI, and cash handling procedures
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and any scheduled employee meetings
  • Responsible for all areas of server checklist on a daily basis
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, any assigned tables, glassware, utensils, and service equipment
  • Adhere to Ace Hotel Covid guidelines
  • Stock service stations with necessary product and service tools (i.e. china, ice, glassware, silverware, to go items, napkins, straws, etc.) as needed
  • Report all equipment problems, damage, and dining room maintenance issues to managers
  • Utilize employee entrance and back of house elevators during working hours
  • Be knowledgeable of property facilities, services, hours of operation, in-house events, and promote property outlets to better assist guests
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information
  • Perform additional duties as requested by department managers and supervisors
