Job Description:

Vice President, Finance and Accounting

Responsibilities:

  • Manage PSG’s consolidated financial statements, along with the annual audit process and preparation of analyses/memoranda related to the GAAP and IFRS treatment of various items in the financial statements.
  • Review account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
  • Analyze financial results for the current reporting period versus prior reporting periods.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual management reporting and financial reporting required by the Brookfield Asset Management corporate team in Toronto.
  • Provide management reporting required by senior management.
  • Manage the day-to-day work of staff members.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with executive-level reporting/communications.

Candidate Education and Experience:

  • Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA or equivalent), with at least 6-9 years of ‘Public Accounting’ (or similar) experience preferred.
  • Strong financial background, ideally with experience in financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage information technology to achieve business objectives.
  • A history of project or team management preferred.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills are a must.

  • Ability to function with minimal or no supervision.
