Job Description

Associate Scientist - Pivotal Biologics Analytical Operations

*At a future date, this position will relocate to the Gilead corporate HQ in Foster City, CA

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Proficiently executes laboratory techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, CE-SDS, cIEF, LC-MS, and other techniques commonly used for biologics.
  2. Present findings to cross-functional internal/external teams.
  3. Authors analytical test methods, study protocols, and technical reports. Contributes to regulatory filings.
  4. Act as analytical method owner for assigned assays by developing a deep understanding of method attributes and performance through execution and/or review of robustness experiments and method monitoring in preparation for commercialization.
  5. Contributes to late-stage method validation activities internally and at external laboratories.
  6. Independently plans and executes assigned experiments to support method development activities and non-routine investigations to deliver on project goals.

Qualifications:

  1. MS degree with 3+ years or BS degree with 5+ years relevant industry experience.
  2. Excellent technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Understands the analytical life cycle concepts as applied to analytical development.
  4. Familiar with FDA and ICH guidelines relating to analytical procedure development and validation.
  5. Demonstrated skills in analytical instrumentation and data analysis (e.g., HPLC, CE, cIEF).
  6. Must think critically and creatively, determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems, and have strong organizational and planning skills.

The salary range for this position is: $104,805.00 - $135,630.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
