Job Summary
This position will train, lead and manage the Groups Team who sell meetings, events, weddings, conferences and family reunions. The director is responsible for the execution of all aspects of group customers, managing the group sales pipeline from leads to inquiries, site-visits, proposals, planning, day to day coordination and exiting strategies. They will also serve as group planning advocate and liaison to all operational departments providing training, plans and feedback as needed to these other teams and their leaders. The director reports to the Director of Business Development and prepares and presents reports and data about the Groups Department performance as required.

Job Responsibilities
- Identify, develop and maintain group business in the designated market segments independently, through a team of Customer Experience Managers and individual development of house accounts.
- Establish and pursue department revenue targets.
- Establish individual revenue targets for Customer Experience Management team members.
- Assist the General Manager, Marketing Director and Business Developer in planning and administering the sales/marketing plan in accordance with the company philosophy and core values.
- Manage Group Coordinators, or the people fulfilling that role to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
- Manage the Group Lodging Coordinator and/or this task.
- Cultivate new business by developing relationships through telephone solicitation, sales trips, site inspections, trade shows, direct mail, and industry networking.
- Design and maintain efficient Groups Team procedures for productive use of staff time.
Including, but not limited to:
- Time management system
- Daily standing meeting and daily updates from the Groups Team
- Weekly Groups meeting with other senior managers present
- Efficient, effective and accurate use of software implemented for use by the Groups Team
- Weekly 1:1 meeting with each team member
- Design and implement training of each member of the Groups Team and any other resort staff that need to interface with systems, procedures and processes originating from the Groups Team.
- Proactively liaise with other departments to ensure a spirit of co-operation and partnership around guest, homeowner and employee satisfaction, safety and company profitability.
- Available for business travel.
- Lead weekly Groups Team meetings and participate as a facilitator and leader in BEO meetings.
- Host site inspections, pre-con and mid-con and post-con meetings.
- Solicit, review, report on and action feedback from customer-based group coordinators, decision makers and meeting planners.
- Some weekend and/or holiday work required.
- Conduct annual reviews of staff; hire/fire authority.

Pay Scale
$30- $32 per hour + commission
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hospitality sales and general management experience.
- General computer knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail and to analyze and work with financial data.
- Highly relational with strong customer service skills.
