Job Summary:

The Web Application Administrator is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and support of web applications. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, and security of web applications and related services. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing web servers, application servers, databases, and understanding of web technologies. This is a 6 month contract to hire and requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher.


Responsibilities:
  • Web Application Deployment and Management:
  • Deploy, configure, and manage web applications on various platforms (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS).
  • Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to web applications and servers.
  • Monitor web applications to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Server and Database Administration:
  • Manage and maintain web and application servers.
  • Ensure databases are optimized for performance and regularly backed up.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server and database issues as they arise.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement security measures to protect web applications and servers from threats.
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor application performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement caching, load balancing, and other optimization strategies.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery:
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for web applications.
  • Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of backup configurations and recovery processes.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with development, QA, and other IT teams to support web application needs.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users and other IT staff.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest web technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to the overall IT strategy.
