Cost Accountant/Cost Analyst - Athens, GA

Who :
A skilled Cost Accountant/Cost Analyst with 2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in SAP ERP FICO.

What :
The primary responsibility is to analyze and record business costs related to raw materials, inventory, and labor. The role involves preparing reports, maintaining the cost accounting system, assisting with month-end close, and analyzing the impact of changes in product design and processes on costs.

This is a full-time position requiring immediate availability.

Salary :
$68,000 - $70's

Position Overview :
The Cost Accountant/Cost Analyst will plan and study the costs of business activities, analyze data, and compare standard costs to actual production. They will provide insights on factors affecting profitability, reconcile inventories, and assist in the general ledger month-end close.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Study and collect data on costs related to raw materials, inventory, and labor.
  • Record and analyze cost data, report on results, and reconcile finished goods inventories.
  • Assess the impact of product design, manufacturing methods, and materials on costs.
  • Provide management with reports on cost factors and profitability.
  • Maintain the cost accounting system and support month-end close activities.
  • Conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle counting.

Qualifications :

  • 2-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-4 years of SAP ERP FICO experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong cost systems background and excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a desire to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work with engineering and manufacturing teams on cost standards.
