**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - ICU Float Pool
**Job Specialty:** Medicine
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Nights, every other week, including some holidays, 3x12-hour shifts
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience required
**License:** Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
**Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
**Must-Have:** Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with varying health conditions, from simple to complex
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe and intervene as necessary
- Administer medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver patient care competently
- Interact with family and patient, sharing care plans during hospital stay and discharge
- Inform patient and family of hospital procedures
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Skills:**
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills are desirable
**Preferred Education:** Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program
**Languages:** Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
