POSITION SUMMARY

Provide leadership, and direct and manage tool and die colleagues to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the Company’s mission, vision, values, and goals in performance of daily activities.
  2. Responsible for performance feedback and leadership of all direct reports including mentoring, coaching, counseling, and corrective action when situations dictate.
  3. Provide key input into the development of the Plant’s strategic business plan and identify and track key measures to support plant business plan goals.
  4. Develop and drive the development of departmental strategy goals and identify and track key measures to support the department goals.
  5. Provide direction and leadership consistent with plant business plan goals.
  6. Responsible for tool and die department safety, quality, production, and delivery objectives.
  7. Responsible for leading all tool and die activities in the plant.
  8. Track, monitor, and implement required improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues, etc.
  9. Assist, as required, plant activities to achieve customer cost reductions goals.
  10. Provide active leadership role in meeting/exceeding customer expectations in all related areas.
  11. Utilize teamwork to develop plant synergy.
  12. Develop and manage die preventive maintenance schedules.
  13. Responsible for ensuring accountability and discipline.
  14. Responsible for maintaining maximum levels of production utilization and efficiency.
  15. Responsible for driving the work team to assure timely and efficient repair of dies in order to achieve maximum throughput.
  16. Drive department manning levels and utilization to assure compliance to budget.
  17. Provide leadership and promote positive morale and ensure a total team concept.
  18. Provide the proactive leadership necessary to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mindset for the team.
  19. Coordinate and assess required training and team building.
  20. Provide colleagues with the necessary training to be successful in their roles.
  21. Assure work orders are prioritized appropriately.
  22. Champion assigned engineering changes, communicate and coordinate accordingly to all departments.
  23. Provide input into quoting and business development activities (pricing, program management, plant capacity, etc.)
  24. Direct, drive, and participate in problem-solving methods for related plant and customer issues.
  25. Responsible for overall department coordination and communication.
  26. Communicate key information to the organization through the daily "shift to shift" communication plan.
  27. Drive and support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and quality registrations (ex. TS 16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
  28. Assure all direct reports are aware of their Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
  29. Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
  30. Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protection equipment (PPE) by the work team.
  31. Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities.
  32. Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
  33. Maintain high level of housekeeping in the work area.
  34. Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)

RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS

Reports directly to Operations or Engineering Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with the Production, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, Human Resources, and Engineering Departments. Also interfaces on an as-needed basis with the Information Technologies and Accounting Departments.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides direct leadership to Tool and Die Supervisors and hourly colleagues.
  2. Ability to identify, select, train, and coach management talent.
  3. Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Industrial Technology preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of eight (8) years experience as a maintenance supervisor preferred, and two (2) years of management experience.
  3. Knowledge of manufacturing, stamping, and/or assembly processes as required for the position.
  4. Strong knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 regulations.
  5. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to mentor and teach the team in effective problem-solving methods.
  8. Demonstrated experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts.
  9. Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  10. Experience as a training facilitator preferred.
  11. Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  13. Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Duties include but are not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk, and hear. Ability to travel. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and hazardous materials.

Required Skills Required Experience

  • Process oriented with the ability to lead, follow through on projects, tasks, and reporting.
  • In-depth understanding of the latest Windows Operating Systems, Office 365 and underlying applications.
  • In-depth PC hardware, installation/troubleshooting techniques and extensive peripheral device knowledge including iPhone/Android devices, Printers, Lenovo, and Dell computer hardware.
  • Experience with InTune configuration and management.
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills.
  • Maintain Help Desk Tickets and routing to appropriate responsibilities.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Windows 7, and Windows 10.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication skills; both telephony and mobile devices.
  • Excellent end-user communication skills.
  • SCCM configuration and management experience (preferred).
  • Salesforce and or Netsuite 2nd level support experience (preferred).
