Job Summary

The Manager of Proposal Development is a strategic business partner to our sales executives and a hands-on leader to a team of proposal writers to ensure the timely delivery of high quality, winning proposals. The right candidate must be sales focused, creative, analytical, accountable, and capable of directing and executing the successful development of sales proposals that differentiate ComPsych in the marketplace.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a high quality team of proposal writers throughout the entire sales proposal process
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to evaluate opportunities, analyze customer requirements and develop "win" themes, strategies and differentiators
  • Proactively develop, streamline, maintain and execute a formal proposal planning and quality review process
  • Direct the utilization of the Confluence content database software to ensure efficiency and best in class content
  • Coordinate proposal team assignments, priorities, and objectives leading to consistent, outstanding quality
  • Facilitate and manage relationships between writers, subject mater experts and sales executives to ensure the timely development of new and revised content
  • Develop and incorporate competitive intelligence to enhance win ratios and meet business objectives
  • Proactively advance the proposal knowledge management process and constantly improve the language database and proposal library
  • Develop new approaches to RFP fulfillment using the latest technology


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing a proposal team with a high success rate
  • Strong project management skills and a proven track record
  • Success creating compelling marketing messages in proposals and presentations that consistently communicate a unique value proposition in response to customers' needs
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills; strong attention to detail
  • Ability to be self-directed with a strong service orientation and collaborative work style
  • Experience with RFP Database software such as Confluence
  • Experience working in RFP/procurement platforms such as Ariba, RFP360, ProposalTech, Coupa, and similar
  • Expertise with standard business technologies such as the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with RFP/proposal solutions as well as editing and writing technologies
  • Experience in health care or employee benefits preferred
  • Stable work history required
