T elis Group is seeking an entrepreneurial, self-motivated individual looking to join the Founders of the firm in a critical role as the Vice President of Asset Management. This individual needs to be comfortable working in a flat organization, and possess the temperament, knowledge and desire to spearhead all aspects of Asset Management, Reporting and Research alongside the Finance & Accounting and Investment Teams. This role requires the person to be a selfless leader who will take full ownership and responsibility for completing all work required by them and their future team. They will be an integral part of the growth of the company and will have the opportunity to put their fingerprint on the culture, identity and investment process of the firm. They will be empowered to build out the internal operational processes and procedures. They should enjoy building out a new division, working in a fast-paced environment and should thrive when multitasking while also remaining organized.
Responsibilities:
- Working in tandem with the investment team by taking the lead on due diligence after an investment has been sourced and agreed to through a letter of intent or other forms of commitment and ensuring that all critical items are reviewed by the necessary teams (legal, investments, accounting, etc.).
- Managing and coordinating all due diligence items during the closing process for new investments, coordinating review with all necessary legal teams.
- Working with JV partners on reviewing and tracking all construction draws during construction as well as monitoring budgets and schedules.
- Managing either in-house or third-party property management teams throughout the marketing and lease-up phases as new projects deliver.
- Participating in weekly leasing calls to optimize both absorption velocity and maximum potential rents.
- Quarterbacking the disposition process beginning with loading up Telis sales model, interviewing potential investment sales brokers, reviewing listing agreements, coordinating the communication internally between the investments team, the JV partners and the brokers during the sale process, and ultimately PSA negotiations and disposition calculations.
- Working closely with the accounting team and fund administration team on creating quarterly investor reports both for internal and external purposes.
Experience:
At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in multifamily or hospitality asset management with an investment manager, operator or development company. Professional references are a requirement.
