Term of Employment: 189 Day Calendar; position contingent upon ongoing funding
Salary: $52,648

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Possess and maintain a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or School Social Work certificate issued by PA Department of State
- Minimum two years relevant experience
- Knowledge of public school systems
- Pennsylvania Department of Education SAP training
- Must have required clearances
- The SAP Mental Health Specialist reports to the Director of Student Assistance Programs and/or their designee
- The SAP MHS will maintain regular contact with the designated administrator in each assigned building
- The MHS will provide individual screenings and help find services and assistance within the school and/or community once referred to the Student Assistance Program
- The MHS will work collaboratively with school counselors and/or school psychologists through the SAP teams to develop a plan of action to help children be successful in school
- The MHS will assist parents to identify appropriate resources within the school or community who may be able to help address the identified behavior
- The MHS will work collaboratively with school wide Positive Behavior Support in reinforcing student's social, emotional and academic learning skills improves and sustains academic achievement, and mental and emotional well-being of all students
- The MHS will demonstrate effective communication skills with clients, parents/guardians and school personnel
- Develop case management skills that will enhance success of student interventions
- Develop and maintain working relationships with administrators and school building staff as well as community agencies
- Provide requested information on related issues that may impact parents, teachers and other school personnel. This is done in conjunction with school counselors and school psychologists
- The MHS will be responsible for maintaining accurate student records according to SAP guidelines
- Maintain monthly SAP reports and submit them in a timely manner
