Work location is subject to change based on business needs.Summary of the Job:The Staff Accountant is responsible for accurately maintaining the general ledger, including but not limited to the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, applying basics of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and complying with relevant internal controls.About This Role:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Assist in maintain certain general ledger accounts by:Collecting informationMaintaining supporting schedulesReconciling account balancesAnalyzing account balances and activity for completeness and accuracyProvides financial analysis support including participation in our month end closing process, monthly account reconciliations and reports and journal entries.Provide back-up and/or assist accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management functions.Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of transactions in accordance with accounting standards and that financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.Resolve Accounting discrepancies and irregularities as needed.Support budget and forecasting activities.Assist in drafting GAAP financial statements and act as a resource for the external auditors.Assist in preparation of regulatory reporting.Works on special projects and/or assignments as needed.Additional DutiesEmployee is responsible for additional duties as assigned.The Ideal Candidate for This Role:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required in this job position.1.Understand and comply with FINRA, MSRB, SEC rules and regulations, and Company policies and procedures.Ability to maintain confidential information.Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Possess outstanding organizational and analytical skills, high level of attention to detail, and an ability to adapt to changing priorities.Ability to interface with a variety of professionals, across multiple departments, to accomplish tasks.Demonstrate high degree of initiative, problem solving ability, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple tasks.Demonstrate ability to work together as a team, as well as independently without direct supervision.Possess strong logic and computer skills (including Word and Excel).IV.
