Job Requirements / Description

TekPro is partnering with a leading aerospace and defense component manufacturer to find a Quality Manager. This role requires a strong understanding of aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing standards, with knowledge of CNC machined components, GD&T, CMM machines, and inspection equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality functions across the plant, ensuring standards in production, shipping, receiving, and supply chain are met.
  • Lead safety and housekeeping initiatives, addressing both internal and external customer issues.
  • Act as Compliance Officer and Management Representative, managing ISO, AS9100, and ITAR compliance, and preparing for quality and manufacturing audits.


Daily Tasks:

  • Manage QC inspectors' schedules, tasks, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with Production Planner on urgent orders and quality concerns.
  • Provide training for quality team members, ensuring skill coverage in all areas.
  • Maintain NCR tracker and CAR logs, review open NCRs weekly, and verify action items.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance KPIs for quarterly business review (QBR) meetings.
  • Attend CEO-led staff meetings to review RAILS, KPIs, and other performance indicators.
  • Establish audit schedules for ISO9001 surveillance and manage layered audits.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, and ITAR record-keeping and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee QA SPC software, track CPK index, and maintain calibration of inspection gauges.
  • Verify timesheets in Epicor for weekly payroll processing.
  • Promote adherence to 6S principles in the QC Lab.


Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in quality within an automotive or aerospace production environment.
  • Thorough understanding of quality procedures, compliance standards (ISO, AS9100, ITAR), and manufacturing quality processes.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and a working knowledge of customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments, including ID/OD micrometers, calipers, snap gauges, bore gauges, CMMs (manual and CNC), and dial indicators.
