You will enjoy a rewarding teambuilding experience as you collaborate with sales consultants, construction and purchasing professionals.Experience in home building for this role is not required, however a desire to learn and willingness to support the Team by taking responsibilities and acting on time-sensitive needs is critical.Job Responsibilities:Work with the Purchasing Manager to lead the Purchasing/Estimating teamPerform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiencyMaintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activitiesInterface effectively with construction field supervisors, subcontractors, and managementPlace extra orders for Builders with Suppliers/VendorsConduct ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendorsResolve invoice problems with Suppliers/VendorsMaintain Supplier/Vendor pricing in the purchasing systemPrepare weekly and monthly reports as necessaryMaintain Supplier/Vendor informationQualificationsPurchasing experience is preferredProven ability to manage many moving parts in a professional setting with multiple ongoing prioritiesClear and concise communication with internal and external customersAbility to work efficiently and competently with numerous interruptionsEfficient and effective follow-up and organization skills to meet and exceed deadlinesDemonstrated experience taking initiative to get things done and accomplish tasks without having to be asked several timesPast experience in the home building or construction industry is a plusPositive, enthusiastic attitude and strong work ethicProficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic computer knowledge.
