A top ENR firm is seeking a Lead Estimator, the role requires a professional with strong experience in estimating within the construction industry, particularly in large commercial projects.
Client Details
As the Lead Estimator will develop CSI Division and Uniformat estimates for both conceptual and final bids, with a focus on self-performed work, especially concrete. You will be responsible for creating pricing strategies and engaging with subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive estimates. This role supports both design-build and guaranteed maximum price projects and assists in putting together bids for design-bid-build projects.
Description
- Develop and maintain estimating formats for both conceptual and final bids.
- Conduct takeoff and analysis of self-perform concrete estimates.
- Collaborate with the senior estimator on pricing strategies and procurement methodologies.
- Build relationships with subcontractor estimating departments.
- Ensure comprehensive scope coverage throughout the estimating process.
- Estimate and review key project scopes, especially for self-perform work like concrete and rough carpentry.
- Lead estimates for smaller projects and assist in risk identification during procurement.
- Present pricing and scope details to clients and management.
- Train, develop, and evaluate junior staff members.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
- Experience in estimating for large commercial construction projects
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with industry software e.g. On-Screen Take-Off, Building Connected, SAGE, and Assemble
- Basic knowledge of conceptual estimating processes
