UMB Bank NA seeks an Application Architect for Kansas City, MO, with the option to telecommute anywhere within the US.

Responsibilities:

The Application Architect will define and execute technical strategy for card-related solutions to align with the product and business strategy. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Lead and drive solution recommendations using gap analyses across multiple technology options.
  2. Serve as a technical subject matter expert for UMB's enterprise and card processor system.
  3. Interact with the vendor team to resolve technical issues and serve as a technical point of contact.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with other teams within the technology organization to partner and collaborate during problem resolutions.
  5. Participate in ongoing system upgrades and patches as needed.
  6. Deliver on "Business As Usual" (BAU) commitments as outlined on the BAU Roadmap.
  7. Provide technical direction and mentorship to team members.
  8. Perform additional application architecture duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Seven years' progressive experience, including:
    • Software development, including system architecture.
    • 3 years of experience in SOA.
    • Experience with the TSYS card processing platform.
    • Web Services architectures, system integrations, and implementation.
    • Executing complex solutions from design through implementation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Banking Payments domain and understanding of complex technical aspects of the holistic card processing system, including data flows, batch processing, integrations, and security.
  • Ability to understand risk and impact to business processes during production issues.
