AccountantYears of Experience: 5Location: West Haven, CTWe are looking for an Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong experience in accounting, be well-versed in financial regulations, and have a proven ability to analyze and interpret financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. This is a highly visible position working closely with the Controller in managing the financial functions of the company.Key Responsibilities:Assist with the completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements and other ad-hoc reporting as needed.Prepare monthly closing journal entries and accruals and review reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.Manage fixed asset and lease ledgers.Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.Work directly with department heads in developing and maintaining budgets and forecasts.Maintain detailed costs in the ERP system and provide cost and variance analysis.Assist in sales, state, and local tax filings.Qualifications and Requirements:5+ years of relevant experience.BS degree in accounting.Strong understanding of US GAAP.Previous work in public accounting is a plus.Prior experience with cost accounting and standard costing is a plus.Experience with budgeting and forecasts.Strong analytical skills.Previous experience with NetSuite preferred.Previous work in public accounting or in a manufacturing setting.Excellent computer skills with strong Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word knowledge.Comfortable with paperless processes and working within different accounting systems.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines.Must work well in a deadline-driven environment.About Aston Carter:Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions to thousands of clients across the globe.
