Job Requirements / Description

Overview of the Company

Solopreneur Sherpa Tax strives to become the premier small business (under 100 employees) accounting firm in the Pacific Northwest. We are headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and serve Idaho, Spokane and the rest of Washington, Montana, Oregon, California, and several other states. Our services are bookkeeping, tax, and payroll.

To date the owner has reviewed and signed all tax returns, established all tax positions, and done all the research. He is looking to remove himself from primary tax duties by bringing on an operational leader who will take the lead in developing firm policy and culture around tax work and quality. The Head of Tax will dictate the firm’s tax policies and objectives. He/she will monitor IRS and regulatory changes, and execute our firm’s reporting and planning to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes.

The owner is an entrepreneur with a background in Big 4 public company Sarbanes-Oxley Internal controls. He is passionate about optimizing businesses and implementing financial systems and has transitioned from financial auditing into bookkeeping, tax, and payroll due to a geographic and lifestyle change over the last five years. Adding the next leader at the firm with a tax background will help capture a large market share and expand the quality of our work and abilities as the company scales.
