Business Development Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join our Groupon Sales team. As our new colleague, you will play a crucial role in driving our sales efforts, building strong customer relationships, and helping local businesses thrive through our platform.

Your ability to effectively communicate , negotiate , and provide exceptional customer service will be key to your success in this role.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  1. Prospecting and Engagement: Identify and engage with potential local business partners to promote Groupon's offerings.

  2. Value Presentation: Present Groupon's value proposition to business owners using effective sales techniques and presentations.

  3. Negotiation: Negotiate deals and contracts to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.

  4. Sales Targets: Achieve and exceed sales targets and quotas.

  5. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, understanding their needs, and offering tailored Groupon solutions.

  6. Consultation: Consult with local businesses to understand their unique needs and create customized solutions.

  7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaign execution.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  1. At least 3 years of experience in sales, especially if you’ve done B2B, business development or telesales; cold calling is very nice to have.

  2. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

  3. Great communication and negotiation skills.

  4. A natural salesperson with an outgoing personality and high potential for growth.

  5. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and a team player .

  6. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships .

  7. Work with different teams to ensure our campaigns are a smashing success.

  8. Quick on your feet and adaptable .

  9. Knowledge of the local business landscape is a plus.

  10. Comfortable using CRM software and other sales tools (bonus points if you already know Salesforce).

What we offer:

  1. Compensation: The compensation package for this role includes a base salary of $50,000 along with an on-target variable commission of $75,000, totaling $125,000 per year . It's important to note that the variable commission is currently uncapped, offering the potential for additional earnings based on performance.
