Akkodis is seeking a Medical Device Design/ Quality Engineer for a 24-month hybrid contract position with a client located in Jacksonville, FL. Under minimal supervision, you will design dental implants, prosthetic components, and surgical instruments in support of current and future products, originate design documentation, and perform testing of product designs.
Pay/Salary Range: $41.81 per hour
Medical Device Design/ Quality Engineer job responsibilities include:
• Write protocols and perform testing and evaluation of prototypes. Design prototypes of new product concepts.
• Complete final production designs and drawings of new product. Communicate on technical issues with vendors and in-house personnel.
• Assist in selection of engineering and machine shop equipment.
• Serve as Design Engineer representative on product development teams and product change teams.
• Write procedures and design tools for both in-house and outside manufacturing and quality assurance operations.
• Supporting DHF remediation, Risk management remediation, design transfer activities, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in engineering or other technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years of experience required. Preference would be for someone with strong design quality background
• Local candidates preferred because of the hybrid nature of the position.
• Proficiency in manual and computer-aided engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing tolerances and principles.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of the requirements of customers
• Ability to drive towards results; ability to manage projects and processes
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, team environment; ability to connect with co-workers on a personal level
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
