This position requires the individual to be comfortable working in a team environment and multi-tasking across one or more initiatives. The candidate must be a self-starter, resourceful, have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, while being willing to adapt to new technologies. In addition, the candidate should have an inquisitive nature, a passion for excellent service and very strong development skills in relevant technologies. This hands-on role requires critical thinking, enterprise vision and strong technical skills to oversee the development and testing of application and data projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as subject matter expert on the Azure Data platform
  • Design, develop, test and implement solutions in either Agile or Waterfall methodologies using SQL, C#, Python, PowerShell, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Synapse
  • Understand client needs to align the solution with business requirements and delivery schedule and manage client expectations throughout solution implementation
  • Develop detailed requirements documentation including technical / application architecture design, use cases, design specifications, data flows, acceptance criteria and user guide
  • Lead the development process, including planning and monitoring development efforts, coordinating activities with other groups, reviewing deliverables and communicating statuses to stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members
  • Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to standards; responsible for overall quality and accurate implementation of developed solutions utilizing Azure DevOps integrations
  • Lead SLA compliance and own performance tuning and optimization efforts of the Data platform
  • Maintain a broad and current understanding of data analytics and business intelligence technologies, methodologies and tools
  • Manage and build client relationships during project execution, effectively becoming a trusted advisor to the client
  • Confidently participate in meetings and manage frequent communications with all levels of the Firm including key stakeholders and senior management
  • Be resourceful to proactively identify and engage available resources and subject matter experts in related areas to achieve your goals
  • Ensure that all delivered solutions meet the highest quality standards and satisfy all specified business requirements through rigorous validation and testing, both independent of, and in collaboration with, business and technical users
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to multitask, manage time and deadlines under pressure
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting priorities to respond to changing internal / external demands in a very fast paced, growth environment
  • Triage support issues and provide maintenance break / fix support for application and data solutions
  • Executes best practices in development to ensure the delivery of robust solutions which can scale to meet business needs and avoid unnecessary down time
Candidate Requirements Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Business or related field preferred) with 7-10 years of experience in a similar role in Financial Services
  • In-depth experience in architecting, designing, performance optimizing and implementing complex data and analytics solutions with the Azure data platform
  • Experience in full data pipeline technologies including Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance, Data Factory, Azure Logic App, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Synapse and other related tools
  • 5+ total years of hands-on working experience with Microsoft SQL Server database / Azure SQL DB / Azure SQL Managed Instance DB
  • 2+ years of hands-on working experience building automated ETL / ELT or data integration pipelines utilizing multiple source systems and experience with DevOps source control and CI / CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, an inquisitive nature, a passion for excellent service and resourcefulness
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive can-do and 'no job too small' attitude

  • Working knowledge of all phases of the SDLC in a team-oriented structure

  • Strong data analysis skills are required; experience executing small to medium-sized projects and a general understanding of Project Management principles are desired
