This leadership position has responsibility for the employed clinic operations for Southwest Texas (El Paso, Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley) providing comprehensive oversight for all employed clinic operations to include all MBOs, Quality, and HEDIS metrics. This position collaborates with various enterprise departments (Health Care Economics, Ed & Trng, IT, etc.) as well as Optum and United entities. This role will have accountability for successful collaboration with physicians as well as working cross-functionally with other functions in the corporation to achieve enterprise and market goals/objectives.

The position has accountability over multiple markets across the enterprise, region, and states to collaborate and drive efforts for effectively analyzing data/processes, best practices and initiatives throughout the employed provider clinics with impact on over 450 clinicians and potential for over 600 + contracted healthcare providers to ensure the right care, at the right place, at the right time. This role is an influential leader who must engage other leaders and develop solid relationships across the enterprise that will drive successful initiative/project completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates as a member of the leadership team
  • Participates in strategic and operational planning for the Markets and facilitates the execution of the plan within each assigned market
  • Continual interaction with partners including Chief Medical Officer, Medical Directors, Administrators, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers and Vice Presidents of Various cross-functional departments
  • Liaison with inside and outside legal counsel on focused legal issues related to the Health Care Industry and other legal matters (contract review and Federal and State regulatory issues)
  • Participates in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for assigned markets
  • Provides cross functional leadership across the enterprise by maintaining open communication, identifying, resolving cross functional issues, continually improving cross functional policies/procedures/workflows and support systems and proactively facilitates staff development to achieve the goals and objectives of each assigned market
  • Oversees effectiveness and efficiency of medical leadership team to achieve initiative goals
  • Directs on-going evaluation and conducts analysis to measure outcomes and report results
  • Conducts research and complex analysis to interpret information on initiative issues and problems to make informed decisions or for making recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Provides regular reports to executive team and stakeholders
  • Identifies, directs, communicates, and executes continuous quality improvement activities or processes to ensure initiative outcomes are met
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in a healthcare environment
  • 15+ years working directly with clinical/healthcare
  • 8+ years in corporate/business setting, managed care, health system
  • 8+ years proven ability to integrate large-scale systemic change programs with wide range of stakeholders and department managers - analyze outcomes driving optimal care delivery results
  • 7+ years senior management experience
  • 7+ years of operational experience with a large number of clinics and P&L responsibility
  • 7+ years in depth analysis utilizing appropriate tools and knowledge of current trends in reporting and technology applications
  • Knowledge of current principles, practices, and trends in leadership and resource management experience providing leadership and direction for long-range strategic planning
  • Advanced experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Power Point, Word, Project and Excel
  • Proven solid analytical skills and understanding of operational reports
  • Proven professional interpersonal skills and presentation skills required. Must be able to effectively communicate to all audiences: executives, medical dyad partners, clinicians, and clinic staff
  • Proven solid data mining, analytical and reporting skills, along with ability to review and interpret data and make recommendations to senior management
  • Ability to travel locally and overnight approximately 40% of the time
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
