Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement and Leadership Development

South Sioux City Community School District

The Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement and Leadership Development is responsible for the supervision of all principals, continuous improvement of all schools, and ensuring student achievement gains at the school level. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Leads a rigorous continuous improvement process that results in improved and measurable student achievement and outcomes; leads quarterly cycles of continuous improvement and is accountable for organizational results.
  2. Provides coaching and support for all principals in the areas of continuous improvement planning and general administration of schools.
  3. Directs, guides, and facilitates the district’s strategic plan and process; ensures alignment between the district strategic plan and schools. Leads a quarterly update of strategic plan.
  4. Informs the superintendent regularly of progress, changes, concerns, and special circumstances; is accessible and available to the superintendent at all times.

  6. Demonstrated implementation of change management priorities and creating credibility among stakeholders.
  7. Proven ability to develop, cultivate, and facilitate relationships with culturally, educationally, and racially diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Education/Experience:

  1. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Administration, with Ed.D. preferred. Must hold or be eligible to obtain valid Nebraska Administrative (Superintendent endorsement) Certification.
  2. Minimum of 5 years principal experience preferred.
  3. Minimum of 5 years teaching experience preferred.
  4. At least 5 years of increasingly progressive and collaborative school or District leadership experience preferred.

Other:

  1. Regular, dependable in-person attendance required.
  2. District residency is required.
