Job Requirements / Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with customers.
  2. Development of customer-centric solutions to ensure both legal compliance is achieved and internal and external customer needs are satisfied.
  3. Supporting business operations and providing direction and counsel regarding compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and staying abreast of laws, legislative developments and developing external trends.

Strategic Planning:

  1. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges.
  2. Recommends process, product or service improvements.
  3. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
  4. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
  5. Contributes to the development of functional strategy.
  6. Makes decisions within functional, business unit, company or industry guidelines.
  7. Develops innovative new concepts, services, technologies or products to address current and future customer requirements.
  8. Operates with limited supervision in a complex environment.

Customer Focus:

  1. Anticipates customer needs to influence the development of innovative solutions.
  2. Communicates highly complex ideas to multiple organizational levels.
  3. Works effectively across the organization to create broad acceptance for ideas/initiatives.

Experience:

  1. 6+ years’ experience prior in-house counsel experience required.
  2. Current member of the bar or able to be admitted to the in-house counsel bar.
  3. Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of agreements, including customer terms relating to services, data and information technology.
  4. Labor and employment law experience as well as privacy and data protection experience is a plus.

Knowledge & Skill:

  1. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  2. Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and work with cross-functional teams.
  3. Detail-orientation and ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  4. Ability to deliver in a demanding and entrepreneurial environment in a timely manner.

Education:

  1. Juris Doctorate degree (or equivalent) from an ABA accredited law school.
  2. Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one State.
