Clinical Medical Assistant

# POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers in a fast-paced medical office setting. This role involves a wide range of administrative and clinical tasks to ensure quality patient care and office productivity.

# EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR Certification/Registration as a MA OR 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant OR 5+ years of experience as a Nurse Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant with at least 1 year of experience

# EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience working in a medical facility preferred.

# COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment
• Strong computer and keyboarding skills

# ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination
• Keep patient records up to date and oversee vaccine program
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are properly stocked
• Assist with office surgical procedures and perform EKG and Spirometry as needed
• Report lab results and assist with prescription refill requests
• Obtain precertifications for tests, procedures, treatments, and medications
• Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations and HIPPA requirements
